What Tab Snoozer stores
To do its job, Tab Snoozer keeps a small amount of data in your browser's local extension storage
(chrome.storage.local) on your device:
- Snoozed tabs - the URL, page title, favicon, and the wake-up time you chose for each tab you snooze.
- History - the same details for tabs whose snooze has ended, so you can reopen or resnooze them. You can clear this at any time with "Clear history."
- Your settings - your theme, notification preferences, and custom snooze presets.
That's the complete list. This data is created by you, stored for you, and used only to reopen your tabs at the time you picked.
What Tab Snoozer does not do
- No data ever leaves your device. Tab Snoozer has no backend and makes no network requests. Your URLs, titles, and schedule never touch a server - ours or anyone else's.
- No analytics or tracking. No telemetry, no crash reporting, no "anonymous usage statistics," no cookies, no fingerprinting. We have no way of knowing you've even installed it.
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no personal information to provide.
- No selling or sharing of data. We can't sell or share what we never receive.
- No third-party services. The extension embeds no third-party SDKs, ad networks, or remote scripts.
Why the extension asks for permissions
Tab Snoozer requests only the browser permissions it needs to function, and uses each one for exactly one purpose:
- Tabs - to read the title and URL of a tab when you snooze it, to close it, and to reopen it later.
- Storage - to save your snoozed tabs, history, and settings locally on your device.
- Alarms - to wake tabs up at the time you chose, even if the popup is closed.
- Notifications - to optionally confirm a snooze and announce a wake-up. Both alerts can be switched off in Settings.
- Context menus - to offer "Snooze this tab" when you right-click a page.
None of these permissions are used to observe your browsing. The extension only ever touches a tab when you explicitly snooze it.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device until you remove it, and you're always in control:
- Dismiss any snoozed tab, or clear your entire History, from inside the extension.
- Uninstalling Tab Snoozer permanently deletes everything it stored. Because no copy ever existed anywhere else, removal is truly complete.
Children's privacy
Tab Snoozer does not collect personal information from anyone - including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Since the extension's design makes data collection impossible, meaningful changes are unlikely - and the local-only promise is permanent.
